KLARNA

HOUSE OF Y2K

Klarna wanted to show how they’ve helped evolve online shopping from something chaotic and fragmented to a Smooooth experience. By jumping on the evolution of the y2k trend, we enlisted Paris Hilton, everyones favourite y2k icon and shopper, to tell that story. House of Y2K was an ode to Paris and the era. Our interactive space immersed people in nostalgia, from every single corner of the venue, every cocktail, every snack, the prizes you could win to the experiences you could book.

As soon as guests (Paris Hilton’s own guest list, thank you very much) turned up, they were greeted by her iconic pink Bentley and her infamous chainmail dress in the window. Then they were plumetted into the reality of shopping in Y2K, abandoned shopping carts, error messages, tamagotchis… it was oppressive, but in a fun way. Then through to the Smoooth Klarna pink aesthetic, shoppable moments and general good vibes. My inner teenage girl was screaming at this whole project and how peak LA it all was (see gallery below).
